How do I create an account to play in Dizzywood?

To sign up for Dizzywood, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.dizzywood.com
  2. Click the blue "Play Now" button on the right-hand side of the page
  3. This brings you to our login page. Click the "Join Dizzywood Now!" button
  4. Go get a parent, and read the Dizzywood Privacy Policy and Terms of Use with them
  5. Choose a User Name, Password (make sure it matches up on both lines), and whether you want to be a girl or boy character
  6. Have your parent enter his or her email address, then press the blue "Send Activation!" button
  7. Look for an activation email from Dizzywood (remember to look in your junk or spam folder too)
  8. Click the activation link in the email, which is the very first link in that email (it's blue!)
  9. This will take you to our welcome web page
  10. Click "Play Now!"
  11. Type in your User Name and Password
  12. Click the blue "Log In" button and you're ready to go!

I can't complete the registration steps and I really want to play in Dizzywood!

If you're having trouble completing the registration process, please make sure you've done the following:

  1. Look closely to see you've checked all of the boxes to accept our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  2. Make sure the user name you have chosen does not contain a real name, your location, your age or bad word, and that it is at least 4 characters long.
  3. Double check your password is at least 6 characters long, and contains a letter AND a number. Also, make sure it matches up when you re-type it the second time!
  4. Verify that your email address is valid and that both lines are identical when you re-type it.
  5. Don't forget to choose whether you want to be a boy or girl character.

I need help activating my account.

In order to play in Dizzywood, your account needs to be activated. To do this, a parent needs to click on the activation link in your “Welcome to Dizzywood” email. It's the website address near the top that follows "Please visit this URL to activate the account and allow your child to start playing immediately." If you have not received your activation email, please contact us by clicking the “Report a problem” link on the lower right corner of the page, and we will resend it to you.

Also, here are a couple of things you can do to ensure our email gets to your inbox:

  1. Check your junk or spam folder for "Dizzywood Account Activation"
  2. Add "account-activation@dizzywood.com" to your "approved sender,” "address book" or "whitelist"

When I try to log in, I get the message "This user may already be logged in. Please try again in 5 minutes."

Sometimes when you haven't moved in awhile, your Dizzywood character gets stuck in our system and when you try to log in again, you'll receive the message "This user may already be logged in. Please try again in 5 minutes." Don't worry! After a few minutes, our system should fix itself and you'll be able to return to Dizzywood.

My password doesn't seem to be working. Or I may have forgotten my password, doh!

First, check to see if you may have accidentally hit the Caps Lock button. Because your password is case-sensitive, it will not work, so just take a second look to see if that may be the "case"!

If you've forgotten your password, you can easily create a new one. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.dizzywood.com
  2. Click the blue "Play Now" button on the right-hand side of the page
  3. On the login screen underneath the log in button, click the blue "I forgot my password" button
  4. You will see a blue message box, which will ask you to enter your user name and your parent's email address
  5. An email will be sent to this address with a link to create a new password
  6. Click on the website address in the email
  7. Choose and confirm a new password
  8. Refresh, or close and reopen your web browser
  9. Enter your user name and new password and you'll be ready to play!

Why does my chat get blocked?

You may be temporarily blocked from chatting on Dizzywood. It's possible that you may have forgotten about Dizzywood’s Code of Conduct:

I pledge to treat others with the same respect in Dizzywood as I would in real life. I will not use bad language or act inappropriately. I will not use Dizzywood as a dating or hookup site. I will not bully other kids or participate in activities that unfairly exclude any players. I will not share my personal information or request it from others. I will report anything that makes me feel uncomfortable to my parents and the moderators at Dizzywood. I will not use any third-party programs or other methods to cheat while playing. Most of all, I promise to have fun, use my imagination, and welcome new adventures!

Or you might have also broken one of these rules:

  • No swearing
  • No name calling
  • No fighting or bullying
  • No giving out or asking for personal information
  • No dating
  • No advertising
  • No flooding or spamming
  • No cheating

Sometimes our chat blockers make mistakes too! If this happens to you, don't worry. You're not in trouble and your chat will return shortly. We are very committed to making our site a safe and fun place, so thank you for your help in following these rules!

What do I do when someone in Dizzywood is breaking the rules?

As good citizens of Dizzywood, we appreciate your help in letting us know if someone is breaking the rules. There are a few ways you can do so.

  1. Click on the red link in the lower right hand corner of the page and “Report a problem.”
  2. You can also click on the red whistle located near the bottom left corner next to the chat box. Remember that falsely reporting another player could result in a temporary, or even permanent, ban from the site.
  3. If you see a moderator, let them know. Moderators may also be present even if you can't see them.

Why can’t I see Dizzywood?

If you are having trouble seeing things on your screen, you might need to do one of the following:

  1. Try downloading the latest Flash Player, which is available here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

  2. You can also check to see if you have JavaScript enabled on your computer. Instructions on how to enable JavaScript on different browsers can be found here: http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=23852/

  3. Can you try setting your screen resolution higher?

    Please follow these steps for PC:

    • Right mouse click on your desktop
    • Choose "Properties"
    • Choose "Settings"
    • Select a higher resolution, for example: 1680x1050

    Please follow these steps for Mac:

    • Click the Apple button in the top left corner of your screen
    • Choose "System Preferences"
    • Choose the "Displays" icon
    • Select a higher resolution, for example: 1680x1050

  4. Finally, can you try clearing your cache on your web browser? Instructions on how to do that for Internet Explorer and Firefox can be found here: http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=497/

Please check with a parent before downloading applications and changing settings on the computer!

How can I find out what's going on in Dizzywood?

To find out about stories, current events, games, challenges, and places to go in Dizzywood you can do a couple of things:

  1. Go to www.dizzywood.com and in the bottom right-hand corner, click on the link that says "BLOG: Dizzywood Explorer's Journal" to check it all out!
  2. You can also visit our Wikia page, which contains all sorts of tips and instructions!
  3. Ask another player to help you!

How do I log out?

To log out of Dizzywood, all you have to do is hit the yellow "Sign Out" button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. See you next time!
