Dizzywood Explorers Journal

Did you know that before our resident animals arrived in the land of Dizzywood, massive magical creatures roamed the land, flew through the skies and swam the seas? Well, one of these brave creatures was named the Great Dizz and he made his home in an area called Wild Wood. The sad thing is, no one, not even Presto himself, knows where these ancient creatures went.

One particular animal, Katherine deClaw, found the remains of the Great Dizz’s private garden and took it upon herself to rebuild it in his honor. She even built a wooden gazebo and recently began to re-grow many of the magic plants that grew there… and YOU CAN HELP!

Enter the Garden Gazebo by way of Presto’s Edge. Click on the sign and choose the secret code “friends.” You will be greeted by Kat herself and she will instruct you to get gardening! You can play the multiple rose bush games to win seeds, then you can plant your seeds and grow a stunning Whisperweed, Gumbilina or Butterfaux, just to name a few!

There are happy hoppy Garden Sprites promenading around the Gazebo who will unveil the process of earning a Kitty Critter to accompany you as you cultivate. Kat really needs some help growing the vines on the wooden columns, because the more people who help make them grow, the faster they thrive! In addition to reviving the Garden Gazebo, she would appreciate it if all the Dizzies would share their plants throughout Dizzywood! So let’s get seeding!

There is a new way to show your friends exactly what you are wearing in Dizzywood. Many have already stumbled upon the camera, and have taken plenty of photographs showing off their Dizzywood apparel, but many of you may not know that you can share these photos as Widgets on your very own WordPress blog!

Follow these steps:

1) Put on your favorite outfit and take your fashion photo. After you do this, it automatically saves itself onto your computer.

2) Go to your WordPress blog. Click “Write,” upload your photo as full size, then click “Send to editor.”

3) Once you see the actual photo in the body of the post, click the tab above “Code.” Highlight & paste all those numbers and letters you see.

4) Click “Presentation,” then click “Widgets.” Drag the “Text 1″ widget to your sidebar.

5) Open that widget (by clicking that little box to the right of it). Now paste what you had highlighted & copied earlier into that box. Click “Save changes.”

6) Now for the payoff! Click on “View site” and if you have completed these steps correctly, you should see your Dizzywood Fashion Photo on your sidebar!

Congratulations! Now spread the word so you and your friends can show off the new trends in Dizzywood!

Every year around this time, The Bjorn Family sets up an egg hunt. But because their three young cubs are a little mischievous, things tend to get a little yolky when these three walk with their baskets in hand. First find Edward, and he will get you started on the hunt!

Edward Bjorn: Hi there! My mom gave me a basket of colored eggs, but my silly brothers Einar and Elof hid them from me. Can you help me find them? They’re scattered all over Dizzywood!

Last week a rather large, prickly character made his way into Presto’s Grove feeling weary, tired and in need of a rest. After spending the night in the tent in Explorer’s Camp (making sure not to poke holes with his sharp extremities!), he worked his way out of the Jungle and settled in the Meadow. We did a little investigating and found out that he is one of Farthing’s loyal friends, who’s come to Dizzywood after hearing that many of our explorers have some quirky items in their backpacks. You’ve heard correctly! Quill, our friendly porcupine nomad, is setting up shop in Farthing’s Meadow to buy your junk! He takes things like the dental retainer, the old boot and the half-eaten snack cake and gives you coins for them! So to all those who have been collecting these random items, now is your chance to cash in! Have fun and sell away!

Presto: I have received a letter from Leprechaun that he has finally reached his home after his four day stay in Dizzywood. Pierre Le Snout, Chanjo, and myself sat down for dinner late Monday night to recap his stay. The only complaint he had was that his tiny feet were a bit worn from all his running around. His pockets were empty, but his smile was larger than ever!

“Tell my Dizzywood friends that I shall miss them dearly! Let them all know that they made my stay here such a joyous one! Please leave them with these photographs to remember me by! Thank you Presto for allowing me to stay in Dizzywood!” said the Leprechaun after our dinner. Here are the photographs he attached with his letter:

There are rumors circulating that the Leprechaun has made his way to Dizzywood. With a spring in his step and a twinkle in his eye, Presto and the rest of the Dizzywood gang have granted the Leprechaun access to ALL of Dizzywood. Under one condition! He must give away his gold to the citizens of Dizzywood! The Leprechaun surely was not happy to hear this, but agreed to give away his gold and promised that he was not going to make it easy for the citizens of Dizzywood to find.

“Warn them, warn them all, that if they want me gold, they must look high and low, in places they least expect! I do not want these Dizzies to find me gold!” he told Chanjo, as he was fixing his machine.
“Hey now, just for that attitude, you must give out your gold ALL day from Friday through Monday to the lucky person that finds where you have hidden it!” Chanjo replied with a smile.
“Ok, ok! You know what? I’ll throw in a little something extra too. I’ll give out a special emote with my pot of gold! How about that?” said the Leprechaun.
“Sounds great! I’ll make sure and tell everyone in Dizzywood that you will be around dropping your pot of gold for them to find. I’ll make sure that they know it won’t be easy, but that the rewards will be worth it! Thanks Leprechaun! Hope you enjoy your four day stay in Dizzywood!”

Chanjo: Did you all hear that? Starting this Friday, keep an eye out for the little man in green running around dropping his pot of gold! When you see the Leprechaun show up in a room, run and look for it! Good luck to you all!

Emotes are a fun way to share your mood and send messages to your friends on Dizzywood. We’re constantly updating our emotes and there are lots of places you can find them - in the Maze, helping Chanjo, playing wizard games, and at special events like the Winter Festival.

Sometimes we also retire emotes and this week we removed the kiss emote. While Dizzywood is about a lot of things - fun, imagination, adventure, friendship - we decided the kiss emote didn’t represent this spirit. You can still add lots of other cool emotes to your backpack! Some of our newest ones include Rocketflower, Sparklevine, Groovy and Kewl. Collect them all to share with your friends. And keep an eye out for special holiday emotes - there’s been rumor of a St. Patrick’s Day emote coming soon!

New games have appeared throughout Dizzywood, some in places you may have glanced over while exploring the camp site, or accidentally tripping over some rocks. Each place in Dizzywood holds their own secret games. Test your skills, practice, and then grab your friends and challenge them to see who can get a higher score!
