Background:
Archimedes Scriptor is an owl wizard who specializes in word magic.  He has been known to materialize in Mage Barrow, a hidden place that you can get to by ways of Prestos Edge. The only way to enter this place of magic is through a crystal keyhole. Once in Mage Barrow, Archimedes will challenge explorers with riddles and other word games (if they are wise enough to summon him by saying the secret words).

Archimedes’ childhood friend is Nebulo Nocturne, professor of astronomy, and head of Skypoint Observatory. They have a lifelong disagreement about whether magic or science is more important that occasionally gets so heated that they go days where they don’t talk to each other.  Sooner or later, though, one or the other will need help and they’ll swallow their pride to assist their lifelong friend.

Hocus Pocus, Stars and Telescopes was a short story written about these two childhood friends.
