How to Get a Critter

We are excited that you are ready to take on the responsibility of having a crystal critter! Once you get a critter, you can have it play with your friends’ critters or have it follow you along as you explore Dizzywood. Follow these steps and you’ll be on your way to earning your critter:

1. Open up your “Missions” tab (the one with the small compass icon on it) and look for the mission called “Get Yourself a Crystal Critter.”

2. Activate the mission and head over to The Jaguar Temple to collect all 5 blue shards. (This is the part that gets a little tricky!)

3. Here’s a hint to help you out: There are 5 blue shards total that you need to collect, but there are 7 floating platforms that you need to levitate to in order to see all the large blue shards.

* So if you’re not seeing all the blue shards, it might be because you haven’t levitated to the other platforms. They are a bit tricky to see, so it will also be a good idea to zoom out a bit.

4. Critters are given out in order: bunnycorn, lizard, floating fish, and piglet.

5. Once you’ve collected all 5 blue shards you’ve completed that mission! Good job!

Now comes the fun part of reanimating your critter (making it come to life)! To do this, look into your “Missions” tab again and look for the mission called “Bring your Crystal Critter to Life.” Once you’ve activated this mission, go to Kan the Geomancer and he’ll reanimate your critter for 2,000 coins. You also have the option of getting a chromatic version of your critter (a critter with more color options) for 3,000 coins and a green crystal. Go back to The Jaguar Temple and pick up the next critter.

Note: If you have a crystal critter in your backpack and you pick up the blue shards, you should get a blue crystal that you can trade in for 75 coins to the geomancer.

Here’s how critters work:

1. Click on a critter in your backpack to put it in-world.

2. Click on the critter again to retrieve it.

3. Click on the critter in-world to put it into “free play” mode, where it will follow other critters and frolic around the room.

4. Send your critter an emote to get it to follow you again and to get it to expectorate treats. Emotes are cake for bunny, bug for lizard, wink for fish, and heart for piggy.
